10 Pirates

Ten pirates are deciding (again) how to split up the spoils of their conquest - one hundred gold doubloons captured off the coast of Gibraltar.

Doubloons cannot be divided, nor can equivalents in other currencies be paid out. Each pirate can be assumed to be rational and self-serving, seeking to preserve his (or her) own life and to maximize his (or her) share of the loot. No side-deals can be struck.

Age plays an important role in splitting up treasure, and old pirate tradition requires that the oldest pirate propose a division of the gold. Any proposal must be accepted by at least 50% of the pirates, including the proposer. If the proposal is not accepted, the proposer is tied up, shaved, marinated, chopped into 2 kilo chunks, and thrown overboard to a pack of vicious sharks. Responsibility for devising a new proposal then passes on to the next oldest pirate under the same conditions.

How much can the eldest pirate (P10) get away with keeping? How much should he propose to give to pirate P3? To pirate P6?
